Ballroom Dance

Instructor: Gail Stevens
You are cordially invited to dance elegantly into the New Year, 2018, via the Waltz and Foxtrot in session 1! Come join us as Newcomer Beginners, ongoing Beginners, or longtime regulars. The first 5 weeks will feature Beginning Waltz and Intermediate Foxtrot; halfway through the 10-week session we will swap. The Waltz is a beautiful dance with which to begin your Ballroom experience. It is slow and graceful, allowing you time to think about your next move and process what you are doing. The Foxtrot is a little more upbeat, yet many of the beginning patterns we learn in Waltz can be danced in Foxtrot, just with a different style and mood. No partner necessary, you are welcome to observe the Intermediate Class if you are a Newcomer.

In session 2 we’ll pick up the pace as we dance to the down beat of the East Coast Swing, softening the mood as we sail into Spring with the fun and flowing Night Club Two-Step. The Beginning Class will start with East Coast Swing at 7:00pm and the Intermediate Class will start with the Intermediate Night Club Two-Step at 8:15pm. Then, halfway through the session, we will switch. If you are just starting out, make sure to have shoes that will slide easily on the dance floor. Rubber soles, like sport shoes, tend to not slide as well as leather soles. Looking forward to seeing you on the dance floor and remember, “keep on dancing!” For more information, please contact the instructor at gpstev@yahoo.com prior to enrolling.

Class Fees: $125 (10 Classes) Drop-In Fee: $15

Beginning Hula (ages 18+)

Instructor: Dominique Del Chiaro
Hula  is an integrated dance of poetry, rhythm, and movement using the  dancer’s body for storytelling. This graceful, sensuous hula is a dance  that helps trim the waistline, strengthen the back, and improve  strength, flexibility, and balance. It is a low-impact form of dance and  although disciplined it is easy to have enjoyment and success with only  a few lessons. In this class you’ll learn basic steps, chants, and full  hula dances. Each class builds on prior classes and all classes include  some repetition and review. No prior experience is required for Beginning Hula. Bring water, a pa’u skirt or sarong and your Aloha  spirit! For more information, please contact the instructor at  dominiquedelchiaro@icloud.com prior to enrolling.
