The community is encouraged and invited to join the discussion as the first public Draft of the Parks Master Plan is presented for review. Half Moon Bay's Planning Commission and its Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a joint study session to review, discuss, and gain public input on this draft plan. This meeting is scheduled for:

This Draft Parks Master Plan is the result of nearly a year of effort, including community workshops, meetings, and a community survey, through which significant public input was gathered around the City's parks needs. The final plan will be crafted to provide guidelines around the park facilities and amenities throughout the community, that may be provided now and into the future.
The agenda for the Joint Study Session, and the Draft Parks Master Plan document, can be viewed on the City's website. More information is also available on the HMBOutdoors.org project website.
This Draft comes after a community-based planning process started earlier in 2017, which engaged people in helping to identify community park needs, priorities, possible new park facilities, and desired improvements to Half Moon Bay’s existing parks. It’s part of "Half Moon Bay Outdoors" - a coordinated effort to assess and plan for the City’s parks, as well as to create a separate, related Bicycle/Pedestrian Master Plan.
The process started with a community survey and a public open house, primarily focused on parks. The survey helped bring out key issues and gained insight into the community’s needs and desires, and the results, along with input from a variety of workshops and meetings, were used to help set priorities and create the Draft Parks Master Plan.
