The Code Enforcement Division enforces provisions of the Zoning Ordinance and other City ordinances. Code Enforcement can be reached at (650)726-8284. Appointments are recommended for office visits.

• How Are Codes Enforced?

The code enforcement process is initiated in several ways:

1. In response to a complaint by an individual.
2. Observation of a code violation by City staff or other government agencies as they patrol the community during their regular duties.

• How to file a complaint:

You may file a complaint about a possible code violation either in person, in writing, by phone or by mail.  Printable complaint forms below.

Please be prepared to provide specific information such as:

1. Contact info - complainants' name, address, phone number.
2. The address of the property.
3. Detailed description of the situation.
